iPhone 4S users – it’s time to get used to having conversations with your phone! Yes, Apple took voice recognition to a whole new level with their most conversational feature yet: “Siri”. You can now set an alarm, send a message through voice-to-text and call a friend in one breath. Apple clearly hasn’t failed at raising the bar each year.

Siri summed up
iOS 5 on the Apple iPhone 4S brings about nearly perfect dictation support as well as voice recognition with Siri. Apart from swiping past the Interface, text entry can be based on voice recognition. Thanks to Siri, you can now dictate your message instead of typing it out.

iOS 5’s main highlights
- New approach to notifications – Android style! Users receive notifications/updates on both the homescreen and lock screen (there are also pull down notifications). Notification behaviour, priority and alert styles are fully customisable in the settings menu.
- iMessage allows users to send texts, photos, videos, contact information, and group messages over Wifi or 3G to other iOS 5 users as an alternative to SMS messaging. This applies to all users with devices running iOS 5 (iPod, iPad etc).
Conclusion
The last thing someone would want is to be seen with their ex- the iPhone 4- as the iPhone 4S is identical to its predecessor. On the other hand, the iPhone 4S boasts the most conversational and hands free feature yet: Siri. The iPhone 4S is flying on its new dual core CPU and full HD camera and it is a definite ‘winner’ in Apple’s library.
